In-Control, “Roc City’s Most Official Teen Program,” is a youth development program with a purpose. We link together youth development, neighborhood outreach and reproductive health care, in order to reduce teen pregnancy rates in the City of Rochester.
We understand that good decision making requires accurate information, as well as self-esteem and self-assurance. We meet teens where they’re at; whether in school, on the streets or in their homes, and empower them to take control of their futures. We offer educational, vocational and recreational programs that are designed to keep teens engaged while supplying them with the tools they need to become successful adults. Life skills’ training is abundant and includes college and job preparation as well as character development.
In addition to life skills training, teens receive accurate information about sexuality, abstinence, and birth control. They can talk openly and honestly about sex and relationships in a supportive atmosphere.
